President's Day

Kaylee is enjoying her day off with Mommy:

A Remarkable Weekend

I have to start by saying that Greg is one of the greatest guys that God put on this Earth. Just when I feel like he can't make me fall in love with him more than I already do, he goes and does something that shows me just how much we're meant for each other. Lately, Greg has been sneaking around a lot which is unusual even for him. On Thursday, he takes off work early and meets me at home right after school. Curious, he tells me that he went out looking at washers and dryers to compare the prices at different places. It was a valid reason so I didn't question it any more than a normal woman would. Friday, Greg gets up and does his usual routine and takes Kaylee to daycare. Little did I know, that Greg actually took the day off, but had to do his routine so I didn't suspect anything. When I get home on Friday, I find Greg home with a brand new laptop. Now, not thinking clearly, I thought that he had bought it for him even though I had wanted one for the longest time. Of course my heart was broken because it didn't register that it was for me. He starts the explanation with "So I never made it to work today". He apparently had been planning to get me a laptop for about 2 weeks and even had planned to take the day off so he could buy the laptop and surprise me. I was completely speechless! How many guys would put that much thought into a Valentine's present? I was hoping for flowers and maybe a dinner, not something as extravangent as this. When I thought that the weekend couldn't get any better, I realized that was only the beginning. Friday afternoon, we went shopping and bought a new living room set which we were in dire need of and a new grill which was Greg's Valentine's present. Saturday, my dad didn't have any plans so he watched Kaylee for us so Greg and I could have some time for ourselves. We went clothes shopping at the mall which normally isn't that big of a deal, but it was one of the most magical nights we've had. Just being able to hold hands and only focus on the two of us revived the spark that we had when we first met. Our night ended with dinner at no other place that the fantastic, romantic, breathtaking Wendy's. LOL We had takeout from T.G.I.Fridays the previous night so we decided to pick up some combo meals at Wendy's. Yesterday, we went clothes shopping for Kaylee which was an adventure in itself. Kaylee is at that age where she wants to touch and see everything. We're at Toys R Us and Kaylee decides to start pulling everything she can reach off the rack. I thought I could outsmart a 15 month old by just moving the cart, right? WRONG! She decides to start trying to stand up in the cart and throwing a tantrum when I make her sit down. So I decide to try and let her get down so that she would stop the tantrum. MISTAKE #2. She runs everywhere pulling clothes down again. Picking her up and trying to hold her was like trying to wrestle with a wild pig. Finally, Daddy comes to the rescue and takes her off my hands. Right then, I thank God for such a wonderful partner and Daddy. I don't know what I would do without him and hopefully I won't find out for a very long time. Overall, I had a weekend that I will never forget and it's amazing how the little things in life can make such a huge impact. Here's pictures of our living room set (They are the same color even though it doesn't look like it here:
