Fun in the Sun

Now that school is officially over, I can start to focus on family and relaxation. Since I've been out of school I have watched my brother graduate high school, adopted Abby (jack russell/beagle mix), sat outside in the sun, watched Kaylee play in her pool, and get a suntan with my family. I love being able to only have to think about Kaylee and Greg instead of sharing that with twenty-four growing minds. I will miss my students because I had an outstanding year (besides being accused of being a racist yet once again, don't they have a better excuse for misbehavior?), but it's nice to relax and only have to worry about my house and family. Here's a few pictures taken after Kaylee, Greg, and I spent the whole day outside.
For fun, Kaylee's top ten words that she uses the most:
10. Bubbles
9. Doggie
8. Cheese
7. Mommy
6. Daddy
5. Hi
4.Abby
3. Thank you
2. Please
And the most used word of all:
1. NO!!

New Clothes

Now that summer is approaching, Greg and I decided to go shopping for Kaylee. Toys R Us has some of the cutest clothes and I could spend hours just looking at all the girl stuff. We wound up buying a potty chair (a summer project for me), two summer outfits, a bathing suit, and a bouncy ball (a reward for being good in the store). Here are the cute clothes we got for her:

This morning, Kaylee decided she wanted to wear Mommy's necklace and Daddy's sunglasses so here is what we got:

Bubbles and Sidewalk Chalk

There is nothing more relaxing than playing outside with bubbles after a long day at work. The sun was out for the first time in two weeks so Kaylee and I decided to take advantage. Here are some pictures of our bubbles and sidewalk chalk fun.

Rain Rain Go Away

Unfortunately with the warmer weather comes rain. Now I know that our life depends upon the frequent showers but two weeks straight is a bit much for me. Normally, I would take advantage of not being able to go outside and clean house, but not this weekend. The overcast skies and collective puddles has made me lazy and sleepy. I hate being cooped up in the house and not being able to go outside and run off the extra energy with Kaylee. Therefore, my creative mind has to preoccupy an 18 month old that desparately wants to go outside to play. Luckily, we bought her a bubble mower that I have allowed to be played with indoors and a bouncy ball. So far, my day has consisted of piddling around on the computer, going with Greg to get a haircut, getting Zaxby's for lunch, cleaning up Kaylee's messes, taking a nap, bickering with Greg all day long, and watching the Kentucky Derby. It's bad enough when you have a cranky toddler but it's ten times worse when you add in a cranky man because I'm being just as lazy as he is. Maybe if the sun popped out, I would be motivated to actually get things accomplished.
